This “literary correspondence”, penned by a succession of four different authors, was sent (with barely an interruption) from 1757 to 1783 to Markgräfin Karoline Luise von Baden-Durlach. As per the recipient’s wishes, it offers a vast overview of Parisian society and cultural life.
